Jarin Schexnider, a Lafayette native, is a graduate of Bennington College where she received her BA in writing and directing for the stage. As a writer, director, and actor, her work is heavily influenced by mental and physical collaboration with the self and other artists. Her written work utilizes elements of dance, physical theatre, intense people watching, and using character development through improv as creative resources.
Her most recently written play, We All Do, was accepted into the Stone Soup Theatre’s Double (XX) Fest in Seattle, WA. as well as produced in Lafayette by the Wanderlust Theatre Company. She is currently working with local artists to improvisationally adapt Emily Thibodeaux’s short story, “New,” into a stage play which will be produced this spring.
