Irina Mashinski is the author of nine books of poetry and translation in Russian. Her work has been translated into several languages and has appeared in various major literary journals and anthologies, both in Russia and in the West. She is co-editor (with R.Chandler and B.Dralyuk) of The Penguin Book of Russian Poetry (Penguin Classics, 2015), as well as co-founder (with the late Oleg Woolf) and editor-in-chief of the StoSvet/Cardinal Points literary project (www.stosvet.net). Her first English-language collection, The Naked World, is forthcoming from Spuyten Duyvil. Irina Mashinski holds a Ph.D. in Physical Geography and Paleoclimatology from Moscow State University and an M.F.A. in poetics from New England College.
