A walking slime
infestation
actually had the nerve
to criticize me.

Pride,
professional experience,
cultural diversity,
years of acquired skill
yet this sack
of human compulsion
criticized me.

A person gives months.
even years
to the service of another
but what really bothers me
is my own reaction --
the adrenal stirrings.

He's probably sitting at home
without second thought
for our conversation.
The ungrateful
