Doing It Again

i'm trying to remember
the exact moment i died.

when i closed my eyes
and tapped out to life,

traveling soul-speed
for sound to the next world

unfurled before eyes
opened on another shore.

more of the same,
but less of the pain
this time

because

i learned
& i grew

and set my spirit
to experience
something new

through eyes brown
that last recall
a sea of blue.
