The Hungry Sea
The twinkling smiles of the ocean,
The sunlit smiles of the waves,
Lured many a fearless sailor
To a premature watery grave.
They embarked when the sea was tranquil,
And sailed out on the deep blue main,
When suddenly without warning,
They encountered a hurricane.
Their vessel was torn asunder,
Before the doomed men could flee,
And every last one of the met his death
In the jaws of the turbulent sea.
