Joe's Not Your Mother
He was sauntering down the avenue
with a little sidewise gait
that somehow seemed out of place;
made Joe curious to know
why he was coming on that way.
So, Joe asked him real friendly and polite,
"Hey man, why you walking that way,
you all right or what."
He says "I'm walking this way
so I can scare mother punks like you."
Joe backed up a little, kind of turned to go;
hit him right on the chin with a sucker punch
that's still gabbed about today.
While he lay on the ground
Joe whispers on his ear how sorry he is,
hoped he would feel better soon.
Joe thought he must be nuts
or having some kind of fit;
Joe didn't look anything like a mother.
