Least Favorite Flavor

III.

"Is something wrong?"
She asks.
Her sobbing's long ended
My hands are trembling languidly.

"No" I stretch the N
Like used gum
"Yes there is.
I'm perceptive."
Teeth or tounge?
"When I set your jeans"
I begin
"In the bleach just now
That I didn't notice the damned
Bleach
Was spilled over there"
(She spilled it)
"and" I stretch the "A"
Can't bare to let the
Flavorless
ABC
Gum
Go

"You were upset
And that upset me
And."

It's amazing
That crusty
Bumpy
Tired wad
Can protract
So long as one
Pulls it

The acidic,
Cathartic
Bass
Of her brother's stereo
Gathers flesh
And wears away
At her sensitive ears

She crosses the hall
Interrupting him
As he commits
Temporary suicide
By stabbing his puckered pink lips
With a thin, off-white
Marijuana cigarette

     "Arnold,
                  that's
                                really
                                           loud -"

"Iss cool. Don't even worry about it. Calm down. Issnobig deal."

She returns.

"Nobody else
Cares
If I'm
Comfortable
But you,
Benj."
