My Patience Has Expired
my patience has expired
creativity whet its appetite
chewed up all the gum
sucked out all the juices
my patience has expired
my pencil has stopped moving
I’m scratching my eyes out
no one understands why I’m here
my head hurts
my patience has expired
all the music in my head is tinny
like the voices that surround me, sugar sweet
filling the room with clutter
pressuring my brain
clanging my bells
my patience has expired
I can’t eat or write
I just gotta move, keep going
change the seasons
my patience has expired
I’ve picked the locks
and my time has run out
