Nor Love, Nor Force

too many things are seen
close to the surface
like varicose veins
people turn their heads from pain
like yours that
(too apparent)
makes them sweat from upper lip
and heats their sex
but it's okay 

for things unseen do not exist
nor love, nor force that
blows the eastern wind
through windchimes on my porch
where I don't really live

so if I look away
and you don't write
what it really means is that
your cousin never sucked you off
and my half-wit brother
never fucked me in the dark
