November

In the Fall of emptiness
by a strange sherry glass
you read to me in Russian
on a slow swing
knowing the terrain
is open
amid thunder, rocks
and shells.
I want to see
the future
on a comfortable divan
but I see only the chain letters
of incontrovertible innocence
and bandaged mornings.
