Spin
It's a cruel game he's playing.
I take small unsure steps
on no path in particular
and he reaches down
with his god-like hands
and spins me like a top-
and I wobble- spinning
around in circles- never
knowing where I may
stop this time- never
knowing which direction
I'll be pointing in when
the friction finally
overpowers my spin.
And when that time comes
I take a few more dizzy
steps in another direction,
relentless in my determination
to get somewhere,
although I have no idea where.
Anywhere but here.
And then he spins me again-
And I swear I hear
him laughing, pleased with
his game
as I spin off
on another random path
to nowhere.
