"May Day and the Revolution of Everyday Life"
by Marina Sitrin, June 2012
"May Day has been retaken in the US. We are now again a part of the rest of the globe, where May Day is a day to celebrate our power—people's power, that of workers, precarious and unionized, immigrants and migrants, radicals of all sorts, from the anarchist to the democratic socialist. People around the world were talking about May Day in the U.S. before May Day began."

'Canada Bill C10 Hunger Striker to Undertake "Final Push" For Response From Prime Minister and Parliament'
by Obert Madondo, June 2012
"OTTAWA, May 29, 2012 — This week I'll start the "final push" for Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Parliament's response to my ongoing indefinite hunger strike against the new Safe Streets and Communities Act (crime Bill C10). Starting today, from 12pm to 5pm, I will carry out my peaceful protest by the steps to Parliament. If necessary, on Monday, June 4th, I'll escalate the protest by switching to a water-only hunger strike."

"The Andalus Test: Reflections on the Attempt to Publish Arabic Literature in Hebrew"
by Yael Lerer, June 2012
'In the merry Oslo years, alongside the uninhibited construction of new settlements and the paving of bypass roads for Jews only, there was prolific joint Jewish-Arab activity, much of it under the auspices of "people-to-people" type programs aimed at fostering dialogue and funded with European, American, and Japanese money. Concurrently, it seemed as though the dominant Ashkenazi-Zionist ideology that conceives of Israel as a European "bastion of the West in the East" was starting to weaken...'

"We Love You – Iran & Israel"
by Ronny Edry, May 2012
"Lately, in the news, we've been hearing about a war coming while we the common people are sitting and watching it coming like it has nothing to do with us."

"At the Crossroads of Climate and Food"
by Richard Conlin, April 2012
"Despite the dramatic appeal of the transport and packaging elements, most of the climate impacts from the food system occur at the production level, and changing those practices requires tapping into the local knowledge and experience of farmers as to how they can best manage their particular soils and products, and providing the right market incentives and resources that will make it possible for them to move In the right direction."

"My Brush with Brutality & Love"
by John Helmiere, Reprinted April 2012
"An officer pulled me down from behind and threw me to the asphalt. Between my cries of pain and shouts of "I'm a man of peace!" he pressed a knee to my spine and immobilized my arms, crushing me against the ground. With the right side of my face pressed to the street, he repeatedly punched the left side of my face for long enough that I had time to pray that the crunching sounds I heard were not damaging my brain."

"Bob McDonnell's Virginia"
by Jerel C. Wilmore, April 2012
On March 3rd, a group of peaceful demonstrators gathered at Virginia's Capitol Square to protest the "Republican War on Women." This video documents the police tactics used against them.

"Emerald City: Starting a Green Entrepreneurs Program in Bayview Hunters Point"
by Starhawk, April 2012
"I...asked him to tell the group about his experiences growing up in a village where the young people were taken through rites of passage. The elders would take them out of the village, for weeks or months at a time, in their age-groups, and teach them what they needed to know to move from one stage of life to another. We don't do that much in Western society, and so young people find their own rites, often involving drugs, guns and danger, too often ending in prison or death."

"An Open Letter to the Occupy Wall Street Activist"
by JohnPaul Montano, Reprinted March 2012
"...you've chosen to exclude me. Perhaps it was unintentional, but, I've been excluded by you. In fact, there are millions of us indigenous people who have been excluded from the Occupy Wall Street protest. Please know that I suspect that it was an unintentional exclusion on your part. That is why I'm writing to you. I believe that you can make this right."

"Oakland Officials Caught in Lies about Attacking Occupy"
by Mike Peake, March 2012
"When riot police first were sent to attack Occupy Oakland, police had the two helicopter internet live feeds shut off moments before police attacked the protesters (and in the attack, very nearly killed Iraqi Veteran Scott Olsen). They did so in order to lie about what then occurred, to blame the peaceful protesters."

"Occupy El Paso: Oct. 15, 2001"
by Belinda Subraman, posted March 2012
A few excerpts from the press conference, interviews with protesters, and scenes from the Occupy El Paso protest on Oct. 15, 2011.

"Taking on the Trade Laws of the 1%"
by John Cavanagh and Robin Broad, March 2012
"A gold mining company, Pacific Rim, is suing [El Salvador] for compensation because that government did not approve a permit for the company's gold mining project. The majority of Salvadorans oppose this project because of legitimate concerns that it could poison a river that is the country's biggest source of drinking water. Through ICSID, Pacific Rim is demanding in excess of $77 million."
