We Know You
by Derek Davey

We know you
You who vibrate with fear
Who pry and force and penetrate
With your cameras and drones and satellite eye
Who cleave and divide and segregate all
Tribe from tribe, nigger from whitey
Nation from false nation
The haves from nots

Yes, we know you

We have seen you before
You who built the Coliseum,
Which became CNN bigga blitzkrieg TV
Crammed with cheap thrills, perversion and pain
Your seamless ranks of Spartan soldiers
You, who are ruled by straight lines
Stifled with barbed wire
Dichotomy architects

We know you well

We see through your bluff
Your schmaltz and crocodile tears
Your forced heavy-handed lie of democracy
Your misuse of ‘love' and ‘beauty' and ‘nature' and ‘God'
Your incomprehension of art and of harmony
The emptiness behind your erection
The shrapnel in your semen
Your deodorant denial

We grow tired of you

You lie spent-heavy upon us
And your servant tools shall turn upon you
Huddle now to each other in choking-quaking fear
Your giant walking mouths of constant ego gibberish
Have no words for what is coming
Your clutching blind arrogance
Cannot aid you now
You're empty,
Kaput.

Know this:
Flow will flow
Magic will magic
Love will love
No arks this time, baby.
