Three Poems by Grace Vajda

a sandalwood model

alone forever wasted on a separate plane
alone forever washed up on a sandalwood model
alone forever untitled and green
alone forever in front of a closed door

he sits
before
the screen
he sits
between
the shades
his chair
made for
the lawn
with red
webbing
and white
arm rests
the man
alone
can't stand
on
sick knees
and thin
ankles
the man
closes
his mouth
and breathes
now
and then
he is
watching
the birds
split by
window
blinds and
he sits
impatient
and
absent
in death
he says
he is
with me
for
ever
even
though I
refuse
his sutble
desire
to pull
up a chair
between
the shades
between
the doors
closed
and
open
he wants
a second
chair
with a
body

WANT?

WHO WOULD MARY...
approve
bomb
classify
dehumanize
eat
fail
grope
humanize
ingest
joke
kill
leave
mold
not want
offend
personify
QUESTION?
request
stress
teach
unify
vie
WANT?
xerox
yield (as for capital invested)
zip shut?
