Green
by Tantra Bensko

hear Tantra Bensko read Green: 1.6 megs

The green, green, green
Of the ground is my heart
               Inside a dream,
Is a prayer that answers itself,
With the hoot of an owl,
               The stones that wind follows
All night, as you walk,
        Sleep awake, walk, and know
               Nothing but the heart.

All but the heart is a dream.
The love for the green
Makes one live;
        The way through the green
               Is forever slow,
Low rock walls on and on,
        Under moonlight, owls,
               And forming stories
That will have no meaning
        But the heart,
The silence in the conversations
Which goes on forever,

Better even than the words,
The heart hooting back
        And forth, the green
Land laughing, angling all the way
        Up to the sky, tingling,
               Warping the night
Until you feel
        Enough is said and

It's time to talk again.
There are no questions.
In that world between
        The stone and owl.
