Johan Wahlstrom was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1959 to four generations of artists on his mother's side. In 1997 he moved to Provence to study under Lennart Nystrom. In 1999 he had his first show in France, and is now a full-time visual artist exhibiting his works in Spain, the USA, the UK, and Sweden. He currently lives in Marbella, Spain where the natural light and colors are perfect for an artist. He strives to create paintings about issues that concern him, such as the environment, religions, power, poverty, and filial and national conflicts.
