As an amateur photographer Carlin utilizes Photoshop to achieve a layered and textured affect with her subject matter. Some of her strongest influences are abstract painters such as Cy Twombly, Mark Rothko, and the not-always-abstract David Hockney. She currently lives in the New York City area and makes a living as a backpack designer. Check out her work at her Flickr page.
