Two Poems by J. D. Nelson

boeing going awry

with a slide rule I
invented a rainbow galaxy

I've seen another sun
it's right there
behind the old one

I know of no other smile
with the reggae I sneeze

I see with my teeth
I frown at the ankle

a poster of the '77 team
chewbacca rice

hanging the wrong paintings
on the wrong walls
all morning

oh, soap

yes, it's an old book of vowels
stakeout church biggie book

red blood gets wooden & pimple
lice cradle is the Dracula pattern

trapped in rat wink so often I cry

tracking a similar moon:

relaxing in a cave
wearing your Zeus suit
eating mushooms

              it's a salamander suit.

relaxing in a cave
wearing your salamander suit
eating mushooms
