When You Come Again, You Will Never Go by Andreas Morgner is the winner of 2009’s First Annual WRITE REAL GOOD Poetry Chapbook Contest, a project of Unlikely 2.0. Andreas works as a civilian investigator for the U.S. Military African Command, based out of Stuttgart, and based this manuscript on his observations working in Africa. He's kind of the perfect contest winner—someone who can’t dedicate all his time to seeking publication of his poetry, while offering a perspective and experience that a professional poet is unlikely to have a chance to obtain.
When You Come Again, You Will Never Go has morphed into a complicated project with a number of full-color interior plates, and orginal cover art by Jon Thomas. As such, publication has been delayed, but we’re very pleased to offer this short presentation from the book. It was arranged by Belinda Subraman, with vocals by herself and Jonathan Penton, including music by Christopher Ashmore, sound effects by Terry Deuineking and Garner Higgins, and photographs obtained from Wikimedia Commons.
