Ear man
saw a man with a radio
attached to his head once
he had buttons all over
his green army jacket
with tin foil mouth
next to my house
on Detroit street
wanted to ask him
Why he had
a radio attached to his head
but before I
could speak
he spit alphabet soup
out of his mouth
onto the cold cement
The oil
covered snow
then he asked me
if I had an extra smoke
i asked him
what station it was on
tossing him
a smoke
we walked away
with no
words
as if
we
already
knew
