A woman can lie
Dutifully imposed upon.
A woman can lie
Drowning in her own
Beauty, mirror.
A woman can lie
In anger tightening
Her heart and thighs.
A woman can lie
Abandoning the house
Of her upbringing,
The clothes of her style.
A woman can lie
Wantonly wanting
A diamond ring.
A man tries to find
The exact middle of
A lie, split it, fill it -
But is surrounded by it.
The only truth that remains
Is a morning kiss that
In its saliva way asks
Him to lie with her again.
