beneath soft spotlights
mahogany sheen
of female figure
undulates with
fluid meanings in
gallery window
 
only three blocks east
form might be hidden
prop draped to display
off the rack fashions
appropriately
accessorized
 
street here runs both ways
between patches of
artificial light
and genuine dark
ambiguous
shadows may be found
 
shifting and darting 
as if resin 
trapped or those odd thoughts
which restlessly dance 
the elsewhere bridging
consciousness and sleep
