Everybody's Favorite

She's
everybody's favorite
and tonight she tells me
that she loves me
and I pray she won't remember
in the morning

I don't have to tell you
that I myself have no favorites
and I'd be nobody's favorite
even so

But she's trying,
I swear she's really trying
to show me that she loves me
through this drunken, manic haze

And if that word
means almost nothing to her
and even less to me
that doesn't make her efforts
any less a sacred thing
