Exquisite

You are exquisite
and a pleasure to savor.
So colorful and moist
and deliciously rotten.
Laying before me
is a rare beauty
few can endure.
With smooth blue veins
causing you to break
and crumble at my touch.
The odor of your decay
sends my senses
to delight
as your rancid flavor
graces my tongue
and fills my nose with
aroma and ammonia.

Others are appalled
as the smell of death
and foul socks
strikes their nose.
The sight of your discolored
and disheveled body
makes some cringe
and revile you
and me.

Although, I savor you
in secret pleasures
at night.
I leave your stink
on my lips
because I want to
always remember you.
