Freezing in Summer

Today is
Long
And hot,
Boring like October,
And cold like your cat's heart.
Frost
Bitten
And shivering, I wait for you outside
Of
The only diner you'll hang
Out in.
I have a car you don't like
and
A life you don't fit in
Waiting
For you to finish that
Burger dip
And the shake you love.
I'm freezing in summer,
Blankets and shorts,
And I'm holding,
Floating,
Waving at you
To finish
Those
Fries
And come outside.
