Three New York Poems
I.

The "Ground Zero Workers for Peace" sign
on the corner of People with AIDS Plaza and Liberty Place
Where the dead and the tee-shirt hawkers
finally all collect their dues
And i pause to wonder if somewhere between Mideast Peace and Battery Park
there remains any sanity (?)
As if in response, Pakistan launches another nuclear capable weapon
