Evolution Pushes On, or, Bad Propaganda
by Sub-commandante X

To the archived articlesAt corporate headquarters, I found a joint sitting all by itself in the middle of the hall. It was just opposite the Personnel Services door. I looked both ways before picking it up. The coast was clear.

I sniffed. Yup, it was grass. I stuffed it in my pocket. Now, I can’t never say the ‘De Pot’ never gave me nothing. I transferred it to my sock, when I was in a secure area. I had no idea the place was that cool.

Yeah, as it turns out, it was pretty damn good. I’d almost forgot what a joy blowing smoke could be. I’d put it down for a couple of years. Well, I didn’t buy it, as I concentrated on my writing.

But I’m real glad I had the ‘dry’ experience. Because I realized you don’t need grass to be creative. But, it does in fact, interfere with the editorial, and analytical skills required in creative writing.

You have to know when to put it down. So, now I write first. Then, I’ll blow some smoke in a stress-free environment to unlock perceptions or insights that I may have missed. Or, maybe, there’s some notion that I need to get reacquainted with.

It’s an old joy and a warm, familial pleasure. And, you can share it with friends. Which is the real joy of pot smoking. But, you already know that. I’m (re)learning it these days.

Why was I away so long?

Dancing with your boss at an office party, no matter how attractive, is kinda like kissing your sister. Nice enough, but something’s missing.

You’ve heard of the ‘glass ceiling’, well there’s a ‘glass wall’ between the worker class and the management class.

The first priority must be to scale, or smash, that wall. Now, I don’t believe in office romances, per se. As a rule, I don’t care to socialize with people I work with. But there are exceptions. And, in her case, I could just be persuaded to make such an exception.

I hear ‘The Hobbit’ (the movie) provides a glimpse into what we may have lost, as a species, by following the yellow brick road to the emerald city on the hill.

We’ve Got Other Things To Do

We’ve lost quite a lot. But, evolution pushes on regardless. ‘Imperialism,’ however, is not an abstract concept. It’s real. Take a good look at ground zero, and the destruction of the Pentagon.

Hell, we used to be so good at it. But, all good things must come to an end. (Like history, and domination, too.) Evolution, however, doesn’t stop. The evolutionary changes we’re going through now have nothing to do with masters and slaves, power, or greed.

Think of something entirely different. I know you can do it. We’re already past the point of believing the lies. The emperor’s got no clothes, and he’s stupid, too – for all to see.

The corporate/state (isn’t that another definition of fascism?) says ‘globalization’ will make everything just fine. They simply ask for your first born, male or female, and every Right the forefathers put into the “Bill of Rights”, in return for a little ‘security.’

But the security is bogus. Why can’t we hear bin Laden’s ‘propaganda?’ Actually, we’re pretty good at dealing with lies. We watch and read thousands of state and corporate lies daily.

You’d think we’d be pretty good at separating the wheat from the chaff by now. So, why can’t we see? Too much bad propaganda for us to handle? Hmmm, I wonder…

Better just hang out with Ollie North. He lives in the only Osama bin Laden-proof house in the universe.

U.S. taxpayers bought it. He should open it up once in a while. Ordinary citizens would like to feel some of that kinda Super-Security for, maybe, once in their drab lives.

The rest of us are just waiting around for the next plane to be hijacked. But Ollie is safe. And that’s good to know.
