Is That Redundant?, or, Exceptions to the Rule

Will Rogers, the columnist and humorist used to say, "I just know what I read in the papers." He was from Oklahoma. Well, I'm from Nebraska and I just know what I get off the net.
Now, I want to remind you. "Guns don't kill." No, they don't. Six-year-olds kill. Looks like we got trouble brewing in pre-school.
I say, let George W. (or, simply 'dubya') fry the little bastards. It'll take a real man - one who can kill a woman in her 60's and not bat an eye - to teach these Kindergarten terrorists a thing or two.
They gotta leave the killing to grownups. They just gotta have to learn respect, dadgumit. And patience.
Same day, some bored military brats in Germany were tossing rocks from a highway bridge directly at motorists passing below.
What they have in common with the half-pint with the .32, is, they're all Americans, and they're all killers. (Is that redundant?)
Hey, they're not old enough to drink yet, so we can feel pretty safe there. But, when kids go beyond the brink, just where does that leave you and me?
It's true, y'know, we do reap what we sow. And if the kids are killing, they're just doing what we taught 'em. And we teach 'em so good.
"Hey, where you going with my pit bulls?"
That was heard shouted down the block, recently. Seems that a young girl went into a neighbor's yard, and the girl said,
"They [the pit bulls] looked liked they needed a walk."
Now, guns can be banned, of course. But dogs, rocks and stupidity will still be out there. So watch yourself.
"Hey, where you going with my pit bulls?"
That's a pretty good line. No, I didn't make it up.
Quote from "The "Brownsville Girl":
"She ain't you, but she's here.
And she's got that dark rhythm
In her soul."
Jakob's dad said that
(AKA Bob Dylan)
Why'd she have to go and call me from way down the hall? I was aware of her. Why couldn't she just leave me be?
Has it been years? She used to be my supervisor, same company, different department, another floor.
But did she really have to go out of her way to say 'hello', so sweetly? In a flash it all came back to me, the respect, the admiration. Her darling daughter. The tropical island where we both have roots.
And the man she's living with.
It would have been so easy for her to just ignore me, and keep it strictly professional. But I'm glad she didn't.
Oh, "Keep it light and loose" is the rule around here. But, on occasion it gets real clear, some individuals, sometimes, are the exception to the rule, don'tcha know?
Sub-X is a survivor of the radical '60s. These days he's attempting to get beyond the 'Them' and 'Us' duality of Conflict Consciousness. Trying to eliminate conflict from one's reality is a lot like dealing with alcohol. It's an on-going process. Currently, Sub-X seeks solutions and asks, "Why not more beauty, love, and joy?" We know we can do so much better. OK, so why not?
