the daisy chain of marital doom

it was during one of those
deep conversations
the wife and I share
having nothing else
to talk about
when she asked
"what's the most beautiful
sight you've ever seen?"

there were a hundred correct answers
the birth of my daughter
the birth of my son
Marie on our wedding day
sunrise at the Smokey Mountains
sunset at the Rockies
a storm front blitzkrieging
over Lake Michigan

instead I opted for the
five minute clip I downloaded
off Kazaa featuring a
thirty woman daisy chain
their gloriously nude bodies
encircled as though they were
anticipating an attacking
horde of cartoon indians

"I can't think of anything
more beautiful than that...
except maybe thirty-one"
