Who are these people?
These people who car pool their children
from daycare to play pal to soccer to
summer kampf, 

only to receive them, wrapped like a
red-white-and blue x-mas package
to be buried on TV?
Who are these people
who don’t realize that after saying coffin-side farewell
on the 10th take
And-----cut!
      That’s a wrap!
That they will say goodbye 1,000 times
everyday the rest of their lives? 
And after they die and fade away–
like carbon-based creatures do,
the echoes of those goodbyes will continue
and the planet will shudder
like a dog shaking off fleas
But not enough to change it’s course
