Mannequin Over in Sportswear

you took what training to tolerate
that rod up your rectum?
and how can you stand to stand up
on that stand, rigid for hours on end
hands held on hips (or with display changes
arms akimbo) staring off haughtily
in that set direction?
motionless, showing no emotion
never a friendly smile at customers
but tolerance for people perpetually pinching you
or if tickling you
still staying unfeeling, unfazed
your public image upheld –
but those occasional nights in a hidden back room
when they’d undress you to re-dress you
in that necessary nakedness
then do you show
a slight emotion change?
