We've Been Betrayed
I
was
slipping
in other
people's

if
you
truly
cared
about
owning
the
libs
you'd
have
come
to
school
in
skidless
shoes

Facebook's

you're going
to stay hopelessly
married to
your wife, so
here's a video
of a 20 year old

hey, us men gotta
stick together
That's the Way (I Like It)
So I posted a video of "Get Down Tonight" on a message board along with Guess who's coming to my county fair next weekend? Hell yeah. and someone responded with KC is a Republican so I watched the video again which came from Don Kirshner's Rock Concert where KC is too busy strutting and sweating to sing or play but with a band like that behind him who cares which led me to wonder what would have happened if Gerald Ford and Bob Dole and Ronald Reagan came out in sparkly polyester and started two-stepping in time with the trumpet players and perhaps then the Republican Party would have wound up right where it belonged: playing next to the horse stables on a Friday night where I'd applaud and go Woo! and when it was over I'd pick up a lemon-lime sno-cone on my way out the fairground gates and back into Real America for another year.
Kris Bluth lives in Eugene, Oregon with his wife and daughter. He's a regular contributor to Groundwaters and among the other places his work has appeared have been Clean Sheets, Bay Laurel, Denali, and Doves and Serpents. All he does is try to take what he finds interesting and get it down the best he can, and that's as pretentious as his Why I Write Poetry blurb is going to get. Kris recommends donating to the White Bird Clinic.
