The messenger burned out and crashed.
Once a quick-silver bullet
Screaming into the sky,
“Listen to me! I have so much to tell you!”
A midnight ride into the sun,
A fever, a poison, a quickening.
Then a slow spin, an empty tank and a fall.

A large silver-scaled fish swims alone in the terrible dark.
