Phoenix Polaris Wheeler (they/them) is a Rhode Island-based emerging spoken word artist, poet, and memoirist known for vulnerable storytelling exploring community, current events, and power.
Phoenix’s work was published in Discretionary Love and is forthcoming in Writers Resist and Waffle Fried. They’ve performed at queer, activist, and community events.
Phoenix’s poetry reconciles their lived experience as a transgender, neurodivergent sexual assault survivor and former sex worker with their twenty-year career in government, elections, and advocacy. Born and raised twenty minutes from Mar-A-Lago and Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion, they are currently using their art to process the exploitation of their community. Phoenix recommends Weber Renew.
