Varn, C. Derick

C. Derick Varn is a poet and teacher now living in Salt Lake City. He works for Zero Books as a reader of theory and nonfiction and is a poetry reviewer for the Hong Kong Review of Books. He serves as a podcast co-host and co-producer for Symptomatic Redness and Alternatives. He co-founded and edits the online literary journal, Former People.

Derick has spent most of the last decade abroad: first in South Korea, then in Northern Mexico, and Egypt. He travels with his wife through Asia, Turkey, and Mexico in his off-time as well as studies history of socialism and alternative political movements.
